Editorial Independence
Our articles are written for readers rather than for watch manufacturers. References to particular brands or models do not imply affiliation, approval or endorsement by the original manufacturer.
We do not describe a product as high quality simply because a seller uses labels such as AAA, 1:1 or super clone.
How We Research Articles
When an article discusses an original watch, we prefer primary information from the manufacturer when available, including official specifications, model references and technical details.
Additional sources may be used to provide historical or market context.
Original Watches and Replica Watches
One of our most important editorial principles is keeping original specifications separate from replica specifications.
If a genuine Rolex uses a particular Rolex calibre, for example, that does not mean a replica version uses the same movement.
Where we include original specifications, they are presented for reference and comparison. Replica specifications may vary according to manufacturer, supplier and production batch.
Replica Terminology
The replica watch market uses terms such as:

- Swiss movement
- Top grade
These terms are not universally regulated grading standards. We therefore avoid treating them as objective proof of quality.
